The Hot Shoe

"Hot Shoe" is a mounting bracket located on the top of a camera, equipped with built-in electronic contacts. It allows photographers to attach and synchronize external accessories directly with the camera's shutter system. The physical dimensions of most hot shoes are fairly standard.

A photographer's Hot Shoe became a creative challenge to the 3D printer. The aim is to design something useful against its normal everyday use.

Getting the subject to look directly at the camera lens, is one useful gadget for the Hot Shoe or maybe a smiley face to get children to smile directly into the lens. Advertising is another use. I've lost count of the times I've taken photos in public, and been met with the question, Do you belong to a photography club?
